This Qualification is aimed at those who wish to develop their skills and knowledge in managing health and safety for the workplace. They will have an autonomous role in their organisation for managing health and safety policy and practice. They will report direct to or be part of the senior management team. They will recommend and implement changes relevant to their role. They will be aware of cost implications and budgetary control.
Ten Mandatory Units:
Develop and implement effective communication systems for health and safety information (8 Credits) | |
Promote a positive health and safety culture (5 Credits) | |
Develop and maintain individual and organisational competence in health and safety matters (10 Credits) | |
Identify, assess and control health and safety risks (18 Credits) | |
Develop and implement proactive monitoring systems for health and safety (10 Credits) | |
Develop and implement reactive monitoring systems for health and safety (15 Credits) | |
Develop and implement health and safety emergency response systems and procedures (12 Credits) | |
Develop and implement health and safety review systems (8 Credits) | |
Maintain knowledge of improvements to influence health and safety practice (8 Credits) | |
Develop and implement the health and safety policy (14 Credits) |
This qualification allows candidates to progress into employment, specialist IOSH qualifications, higher education or to the following City and Guilds qualifications:
- Level 5 NVQ in Management of Health and Safety
- ILM management NVQs
